Red oak vs white oak hardwood flooring westchester NY January 8, 2012 by TheFlooringGirl 2 Comments 2 Response Comments james March 27, 2014 at 2:23 am Oak requires more linear scraping where pine will accept a little more cross-grain scraping. We see more chatter marks in oak and we definitely spend more time sharpening blades when we scrape white oak! It’s important to have experienced sanders who know the right grits to use and be able to reduce chatter marks. Reply Leave A Comment Click here to cancel reply.
