Do you move furniture when you install hardwood floors?

Yes, we do!  There are some hardwood flooring companies in Westchester that will not move furniture.  They will either require you to move the furniture or recommend a professional moving company.  We move most furniture for you, regardless of whether we are refinishing  hardwood, installing new wood (or laminate) floors, vinyl as well as carpeting.

The homeowner will need to move all loose/breakable items as well as computer equipment/electronics, but we will take care of the heavy lifting.  If you have extremely heavy or unusual items (e.g. granite tables, antiques, etc), it’s best to have a professional moving company, but for standard items, we can help you.

We always ask our customers if they would prefer to move the furniture or if they would like our assistance.  When we are installing carpet, pre-finished hardwood or laminate, furniture can just be moved from room to room (or at times across the room) and then moved back the same day.  When hardwood floors are being refinished, all furniture (and items) will need to be moved out of the area for the entire duration and then moved back 4 days later after the floors have properly dried.  We can return for a separate trip to move the furniture back, or you can move the furniture back at your convenience – just let us know your preference.
